Find your fit
For studying that continues beyond the answer.
NodeStudy connects explanations with course plans, practice, mistake reviews, and a record of what you later answer without help.
Explore the differences below, including what the checks establish and what the learning record does not.
Choose the workflow that fits
| Your main need | A suitable starting point | What to inspect in NodeStudy |
|---|---|---|
| A quick explanation or occasional question | Your existing assistant may be enough. | Whether a connected study workflow adds value for you. |
| Reading and discussing a collection of sources | A source-focused notebook may suit your routine. | How course materials connect to lessons and practice. |
| An established flashcard routine | Your current flashcard app may remain the right choice. | Whether mistake-linked reviews and course tasks fit the practice you need. |
| Following a course and revisiting weak areas | A connected study workflow is worth considering. | Course tasks, repair practice, and independent-attempt records. |
Inspect the check
When a supported calculation is checked by a tool, its marker opens a record of the tool, input, and returned result. Here is what that record can look like for a derivative.
The marker supports the calculation shown. It does not mean every answer was checked, or establish that the surrounding explanation is correct.
CalculusThe chain rule
The derivative of sin(x²) is 2x cos(x²). The chain rule includes the derivative of the inner function.

What was checked
cas diff(sin(x**2), x) 2*x*cos(x**2)
Return to the mistake
The error notebook keeps a mistake, the missing idea, and a route back to practice. A later attempt without help is recorded separately from working through the explanation.

- Your step
cos(x²)- Why it is wrong
- The derivative of sin(u) is cos(u)·u′, and u = x² still depends on x.
- The correct idea
2x · cos(x²)

How help changes the record
In this example, reading the correction and then writing 2x cos(x²) is aided practice. Explaining the inner derivative later, without opening the correction, is a separate unaided attempt.
The record distinguishes aided from unaided attempts. It does not measure how much each hint or explanation contributed.
Evidence of past attempts
A delayed unaided-recall count describes past attempts and the items tried again. It does not establish that an older result still reflects what you can do today, or prove transfer to a new problem.
No published cohort outcome
We have not published a result for a real student cohort. These features are not evidence that NodeStudy improves learning, grades, or retention.
Know what to study next
A course brings materials, conversations, and tasks together. Tasks can name prerequisites and a completion criterion; the next step gives you a way to resume.
Review generated plans and explanations against your course. Plans may miss prerequisite gaps; explanations can contain errors or missing citations. A task marked done records completion, not mastery.

Inspect a source citation
A citation can open the referenced material at a page. Check the passage and any reading limits rather than treating the presence of a citation as proof.

3.4 The chain rule
If g is differentiable at x and f is differentiable at g(x), then f ∘ g is differentiable at x, and (f ∘ g)′(x) = f′(g(x)) · g′(x). The proof starts from the difference quotient and uses the continuity of g at x.
