Refund Policy
Version 2026-09-27. This policy restates the cancellation, withdrawal and refund conditions of the Terms of Service, sections 6 and 8, so they can be read on their own. If the two ever differ, the Terms of Service prevail. Available in English and Portuguese.
1. Cancelling a subscription
You may cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing. Access continues at the subscribed plan level until the end of the current paid period, and nothing further is charged. Cancellation of future renewals is distinct from a request for a statutory refund: cancelling stops the next charge; a refund returns money already paid, under the rights below.
2. Your right to a refund
- Brazil (CDC art. 49): for eligible distance contracts, you may withdraw within 7 calendar days, counted from signing or receipt of the product or service, as applicable. Amounts paid must be returned in full, without penalty, as required by law.
- European Economic Area and United Kingdom: where the distance-contract rules apply, consumers generally have 14 days from conclusion of a service contract to withdraw without giving a reason. Starting to use the service or accepting the terms does not, by itself, waive that right. Any exception, early-performance request, proportionate charge or loss of withdrawal rights must satisfy the specific information, express-consent and acknowledgement requirements of applicable law. Mandatory rights concerning defective digital content or services remain separate and continue to apply.
- Other countries: mandatory local withdrawal, cancellation, renewal and refund rights apply where their legal conditions are met. The Brazilian period is not a worldwide maximum or a substitute for a longer or different local right.
- A defective service: nothing here waives your rights to repair, replacement, refund or compensation where the law provides them.
3. How to ask
While the Brazilian seven-day window is open, the fastest route is Settings → Billing: the screen shows the amount and a button that undoes the purchase directly, with no reason required and no condition on how much you used the service.
Otherwise, write to support@nodestudy.com. An unequivocal statement is sufficient; no particular wording or explanation is required. An optional example is: “I withdraw from my subscription contract entered into on [date], associated with [account email or order reference]. Please confirm receipt and process the refund due under applicable law.” Include only what is needed to locate the purchase, keep a copy, and do not send passwords or full payment-card details.
You do not have to negotiate separately with the payment provider to exercise your rights against us. Payments are handled by the provider identified at checkout, under the seller arrangement disclosed there; we confirm receipt of your request and process the refund due under applicable law.
4. What happens to your access
- If a full refund is approved, or a payment is reversed by your bank (a chargeback), the paid plan ends and the account returns to the free tier. Your account, uploads and study data are not deleted by a refund; only the paid entitlements end.
- A partial refund — for example a goodwill credit for part of a period — does not change your access.
5. If we discontinue the service
If we stop offering NodeStudy, or stop offering a paid plan, we will give reasonable advance notice through the service, leave you time to export your data, and refund the unused part of what you have already paid.
6. Contact
For anything about a payment, a cancellation or a refund, write to support@nodestudy.com.
