An example of a correction
Illustrative example, written for this page. It is not a student's conversation or a call to the live tutor.
Illustrative conversation
“I took the derivative of x² sin x as (x²)′ × (sin x)′ = 2x cos x.”
The derivative of a product is not the product of the derivatives. The product rule adds two terms, one for each factor that changes.
(x² sin x)′ = 2x sin x + x² cos x
At x = π/2 the rule gives π, and your answer gives 0. What derivative do you get for x³ cos x with the same rule?
The correction names the rule that was skipped, shows the right derivative and gives a value where the two answers differ.
Research: in a review of ten study techniques, practice testing was rated high utility and rereading low (Dunlosky and colleagues, 2013). The mock exam in the exam’s format is a test, and NodeStudy has not measured whether it has that effect.

How NodeStudy fits your preparation
Send your slides, problem sets, past exams and notes. The tutor answers from them and shows what it relied on: a citation opens the page of the file.
Set the date of each exam in the course and the time you have each day. Sessions land on the calendar before each exam, none longer than two hours unless you ask, and the plan is redone when your routine changes.
Sit mock exams in the format of your exam. The tutor copies the style of a past exam in your material, or asks the format when there is none. You answer one question at a time against the clock, and the correction comes after you hand it in.
The tutor builds flashcards from what you studied, and the review comes back on a spaced schedule.
When the question allows, the tutor checks the arithmetic with a symbolic algebra tool. What that check covers is on How it works.
NodeStudy is not affiliated with any university, college or instructor, and it brings no exam questions: the tutor works from the material you send.
